UNDIP KKN-T Students Develop SME Profiles and Owner Biographies for Branjang Village E-Catalog

Students participating in the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) on Science and Technology for UNDIP-Assisted Villages (IDBU) 14 at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), stationed in Branjang Village, West Ungaran District, Semarang Regency, completed the development of business profiles and brief biographies of SME owners and managers as part of a multidisciplinary program to develop an SME e-catalog. The activity was carried out alongside a social media assistance program from August 4 to 7, 2026.

The profiles and biographies were prepared by Gideon Rayfun Putra Adma, a student of the Indonesian Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Diponegoro, for three targeted SMEs: Anto Aquarium Art, managed by Adinuhung Bagas Putra Kinasih; the Usaha Peningkatan Pendapatan Keluarga Akseptor (UPPKA), led by Srianah; and Tahu Bakso Amellia, owned by Hesti Apriani. The profile and biography texts were developed based on in-depth interviews with each business owner, covering the background of the business, its development journey, challenges encountered, and future aspirations.

To ensure the accuracy of the information, the completed drafts were directly validated by the respective sources through an oral review during the assistance sessions. The validation process resulted in several revisions, including corrections to the dates when the businesses were established, business locations, owners’ names, and details regarding the challenges faced by the business owners. All feedback was incorporated into the final drafts to ensure that the profiles and biographies accurately reflected the information provided by the sources.

In addition to the profile and biography texts, the program produced a standardized template for writing SME owner profiles, which can be used for the continued development of the Branjang Village SME e-catalog. The template includes guidelines for entering administrative business information and a biography structure that can be consistently applied by the e-catalog management team in the future.

The program was also complemented by profile photographs of the three SME owners, which were adapted to the visual standards of the e-catalog. The photographs were produced through collaboration between Gideon and one of the KKN-T team members. The entire interview and profile development process was also documented as part of the program’s reporting.

The development of SME owner profiles and biographies aligns with the eighth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 8), Decent Work and Economic Growth. By providing accurate and structured information about local businesses, SMEs in Branjang Village can build a stronger informational foundation to establish trust and reach a wider market.

The KKN-T activities in Branjang Village were conducted under the supervision of Field Supervisor Feri Satria Wicaksana Effendy, S.H., M.H. Through this program, Gideon hopes that the profiles and biographies will serve not only as administrative components of the e-catalog but also as a means of introducing the people behind each business to the wider community and fostering a sense of pride among SME owners in the journeys they have undertaken.

He also hopes that the standardized template can continue to be utilized by future KKN teams and village administrators, allowing the documentation of SMEs in Branjang Village to be regularly updated and developed in a sustainable manner.
