This session invites participants to explore Western and Eastern folklore through a comparative lens, highlighting both the similarities and differences that connect diverse storytelling traditions. Moving from Western oral literature to Eastern, particularly Southeast Asian folklore, the discussion will reveal how oral traditions are not merely stories passed down through generations, but powerful expressions of cultural values, symbolic meanings, collective memory, and psychological experiences.
